I grew up an Air Force brat. We lived in Germany, Illinois, and Arkansas for most of my school days. Arkansas was where I graduated high school, started college, and met my husband. It was a wonderful way to grow up.

After my husband and I got married, he left the Air Force and we moved to Connecticut. How different the civilian life is! Our kids have friends they went to kindergarten with, and our son married his high school sweetheart. The only time I see anybody I knew in high school is on Facebook! But again, I wouldn’t trade any of it.

I discovered rug hooking while looking through an auction site. This beautiful rug just stopped me in my tracks, and boy did I want to own it! After realizing it was out of my budget, I started down a rabbit hole of rug hooking sites, Youtube videos, and lots of pictures. I was on the web for over four hours, and decided to give it a try with stuff I had on hand. With a piece of burlap, an old wool skirt and a crochet, I was hooked. Now, six years later, I’ve taken over our son’s room and a dormer room upstairs as my studio, started vending at shows, opened an Etsy shop, and now this website. I am eager to do my part to keep this art alive for many more years.
